Cancellation & Refund Policy

Policy Summary: Disciplefy operates on a token-based system where purchased tokens are generally non-refundable once successfully delivered. However, we provide full refunds for technical failures, payment errors, and other exceptional circumstances. All refund requests must be made within 7 days of purchase.
1. Overview
This policy covers two types of purchases:
- Token purchases — processed via Razorpay, governed fully by this policy
- Subscriptions via Razorpay (web) — Standard, Plus, and Premium plans purchased on the web, governed by this policy
- Subscriptions via IAP (mobile) — Standard, Plus, and Premium plans purchased through Google Play Store or Apple App Store are governed by those platforms' refund policies; Disciplefy cannot process refunds for IAP purchases
2. Token Purchase Model
- Digital Delivery: Tokens are delivered instantly upon successful payment
- Non-Physical Goods: Tokens are digital credits, not physical products
- Immediate Availability: Purchased tokens are immediately available for use
- No Expiry: Tokens never expire and are permanently added to your account

3. Refund Eligibility
✅ Eligible for Full Refund
- Payment Processed, Tokens Not Delivered: Payment successful but tokens not added to account
- Duplicate Charges: Multiple charges for a single purchase due to technical error
- Unauthorized Transactions: Fraudulent purchases made without user consent
- Technical Service Failure: Inability to use tokens due to widespread system issues
- Payment Gateway Errors: Incorrect charging amounts or currency conversion errors
⚠️ Eligible for Partial Refund
- Service Degradation: Significant reduction in service quality affecting token usage
- Feature Unavailability: Key features unavailable for extended periods
- Account Termination by Disciplefy: Account terminated due to policy violations (unused tokens only)
❌ NOT Eligible for Refund
- Successfully delivered tokens (available for use)
- Tokens already consumed for study guide generation
- Change of mind or dissatisfaction with AI content quality
- Account deletion by the user with remaining tokens
- Account suspended due to Terms of Service violations
- Accidental purchases (unless within 1 hour of purchase)
4. Refund Scenarios
Payment Success, No Token Delivery Payment processed but tokens not added within 30 minutes → automatic system retry within 1 hour → manual investigation if retry fails → full refund if tokens cannot be delivered within 24 hours.
Duplicate Charges Immediate investigation → full refund of duplicate charges within 3–5 business days → tokens from legitimate purchase retained.
Service Outage Service credits for affected users → partial refund for extended outages (>24 hours).
Fraudulent Transaction Immediate account security review → full refund upon verification → cooperation with law enforcement if required.
5. How to Request a Refund
- Contact Support — Email support@disciplefy.in within 7 days of purchase
- Provide Information — Include transaction ID, email address, purchase date, and reason for refund
- Verification — Our team verifies your purchase and eligibility (24–48 hours)
- Decision — Email confirmation of approval or denial with explanation
- Processing — Approved refunds processed within 5–7 business days
Required information: Transaction ID · Account email · Payment method (last 4 digits) · Detailed reason · Supporting screenshots or error messages

7. Refund Methods
Refunds are processed to the original payment method:
- Credit/Debit Cards: Statement credits
- UPI/Net Banking: Credited to original account
- Wallets: Refunded to original wallet balance
If the original payment method is unavailable, we may offer bank transfer, account credit (tokens), or service extension.
8. Token Pricing Reference
- Exchange Rate: 10 tokens = ₹1 (Indian Rupees)
- Minimum Purchase: 50 tokens (₹5)
- Maximum Purchase: 10,000 tokens (₹1,000) per transaction
9. Subscription Refunds
Razorpay Subscriptions (Web)
Standard, Plus, and Premium subscriptions purchased via the web through Razorpay are eligible for refund in the following cases:
- Payment charged but subscription not activated within 24 hours
- Duplicate charge for the same billing period
- Technical failure preventing access to subscribed features
Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days to support@disciplefy.in with your transaction ID.
IAP Subscriptions (Google Play / App Store)
Standard, Plus, and Premium subscriptions purchased through Google Play Store or Apple App Store are billed by those platforms. Disciplefy does not have access to IAP payment details and cannot issue refunds for these purchases.
To request a refund:
- Google Play: Visit play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions or contact Google Play support
- Apple App Store: Visit reportaproblem.apple.com or go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
Cancelling a subscription stops future billing but does not refund the current billing period.
10. Governing Law
This policy is governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be resolved in courts of competent jurisdiction in India.
